Kunena 2.0 is installed on Tizen.se

We have just completed the upgrade of
Kunena forum at Tizen.se.

Kunena 2.0 is a major upgrade and enhancement of the very well-made forum component for Joomla 2.5. All the old code from previous and outdated forum has now cleared and n new modern platform has replaced. Kunena 2.0 is up 10ggr faster when displaying forum threads and forum posts. The list of improvements is long.

Here is a selection:

General

• Improved BBCode support and functionality (eg spoiler tag)
• Improved integration with J! 2.5 ACL
• A completely new approach to managing custom menu items (eg rules, help pages)
• New forum views (eg threaded topic Layout)
• Improved topic creation (eg forcing a user to select a category before posting in the first-Listed category)
• Improved subscription / email functionality
• Categories now have unique SEF aliases - no fashion category ids in the new urls:

• New: Global Moderators can now Manage announcements (before: the list of user ids)
• New: Global Moderators can remove thank you
• New: Locked categories with no posts are threaded as sections
• New: Shadow topics are now always created When merging topics (keeps old URL working)
• New Router uses Joomla! 2.5 transliteration settings
• New: Topic icons for deleted, unapproved, locked, sticky
• New: Topic starter and moderator can change topic icon on reply

• Removed: kunena_menu module position
• Removed: PDF output (Joomla! 2.5 does not include the library out of the box)

• Better organized and smaller Language Files
• Router has been redesigned for better performance and to ask more general
• Router can convert most legacy URLs into new ones

• Moved: Integrations are now plug-ins
• Changed: Empty board email address now Means: use site address
• New: Added new Image / file upload options (moderators & admins only)
• New: Ability to hide Page Creation Time
• New: Manage attachments in user profiles
• New: Guests / new users need approval on posting
• New: Attachment limit per item
• New: No category selected on posting
• New: Fallback to English if translations are missing
• New: Caching
• Removed or changed a few settings (most Should be the Sami after migration)

Bug fixes:

• Category Index only shows topics Which user can see
• New indication was cleared When someone posted a message to the topic
