Joomla World Conference this year was launched in the eternal city of Rome. It was as we mentioned before the first time the conference took place on European soil and it seems to be the last time. The reason is that the Joomla World Conference, which has been an annual event since 2011 will cease to instead place a focus on more local Joomla Conference.
If this is good or bad, time will expire, but in small countries such as Sweden it will be difficult to get together a similar mix of program items as at the World Conference.
With a number of conference rooms and a full-featured program, there was something for everyone. Of course, quite a lot about Joomla's core and community, but they have broadened the repetition and even a web agency like joomlaproffs could choose from a lot of goodies. We watched some new additions, including a new image management add-ons caught our attention. There were also lectures on everything from web design to how to attract investors to their new project.
A big news was of course Joomla 4 and during a presentation, a first alphaversion was also released for testing. We got a peek at the backend and frontend, both based on bootstrap 4. In addition to eliminating obsolete features from 3an, there were also some news like an improved media manager and a faster installation.
