The site was built in Joomla where we used the built-in multilingual support so that the 4 different languages could easily be handled in the same control panel. This way, it is possible to duplicate content and layout for the different languages in no time. We configured the server so that the different country domains could be integrated with Joomla's language filter.
The site was then built on a template of Yootheme, which was then carefully adapted to Nintendo's graphic profile. We imported products and titles focusing on ease of use for both those who work with the site and for visitors. We also developed an advanced search / filter feature that extends far beyond a standard standard search.
The site is an installation of Joomla CMS but with four languages located on each domain .se, .dk, .fi and .no. For easier administration in all languages, the built-in multilingual support in Joomla is perfect.
With targeted domain to the right language, you get extra plus points from Google and other search engines. A .se domain will always be valued higher in Sweden than a general .com does.
To run the entire package, we were also given the task of installing and configuring a dedicated Ubuntu-based web server. Of course with the latest Apache, PHP and MariaDB for speed and long-term operation.
We have also configured a unique BASH script to easily move the web page from the development server and vice versa. This is to be able to quickly go live with an updated web page - but also to be able to easily put a new version of the live page on the development server to quickly perform tests and start updates.
The site was completed during the summer 2016 and has since been mainly handled by Bergsala's administrators. We have also helped with some new features over the years.
The site aroused a certain stir in the Joomla world and is available as a top reference on joomla.org. 2017 was also voted "Best coroprate website" by the Joomlas Community at their annual awards ceremony JAB.
